The Polo Awards: Standing Rock Wins the HPA Victor Ludorum 12-Goal Award 2024

For the third consecutive year, team Standing Rock emerged as a Victor Ludorum series champions at The Polo Awards, having won the 8-goal award in 2022 and the 12-goal award in 2023 and 2024.

The Polo Awards hosted by the Hurlingham Polo Association (HPA) took place on Monday May 12, at The Underglobe, in London. Celebrating the stars of the 2024 polo season, this year’s highly-anticipated ceremony was particularly momentous in the HPA’s 150th anniversary year. 

For the third consecutive year, team Standing Rock emerged as a Victor Ludorum series champions, having won the 8-goal award in 2022 and the 12-goal award in 2023 and 2024, with team players Philipp Mueller, Pierandrea Mueller, Nacho Gonzalez and Ricardo Garros presented with the prestigious trophy for 2024. 

The Polo Awards honour the stand-out winners and champions competing within different levels of polo from the previous season in England. A highlight of the polo calendar, the glittering awards event has become a tradition that brings the polo community together to kick-off the English season in style, ahead of a summer of world-class sporting action.

This year, the Standing Rock Fair Play Award was presented to Ferne Park, represented by Holly Gadsby, the team which demonstrated superior sportsmanship, discipline, respect for umpires and horse welfare throughout the Victor Ludorum series. The Standing Rock Fair Play Award is gaining traction in the polo world internationally and is now presented by four governing bodies for polo worldwide, in England, France, Australia and New Zealand. 

With entries into tournaments ranging from 4 to 18 goals for the 2025 season, Standing Rock Polo Team is striving to build on the success of last year, guided by the timeless wisdom of the Native Americans and promoting the values of courage, positivity, passion, commitment, discipline, professionalism and respect in everything they do.

At the end of the 48th New Zealand Polo Open high goal final held at Auckland Polo Club on Sunday February 16th, team Brinks (Steve van den Brink, Henry Batchelor, Nick Keyte and JP Clarkin) was awarded the Standing Rock Fair Play Award for demonstrating exceptional conduct, sportsmanship and horsemanship throughout the competition.
