Richard Mille AlUla Desert Polo 2025: world-class polo in Saudi Arabia

One of the things we love about polo is how it takes us around the world to some of the most beautiful locations on the planet. But no polo destination is quite as spectacular as the backdrop of dramatic rock formations in AlUla, Saudi Arabia, the setting of the 2025 Richard Mille Desert Polo tournament, where Philipp Müller represented Standing Rock playing for team Budget Saudi along with Harry Medina, and top-rated female professional player, Milly Hine.

Welcoming players and guests from around the globe, the AlFursan Equestrian Village in AlUla hosted two days of top polo action in its purpose built sand arena, with six teams comprising some of the world’s best professional players, Royal dignitaries and international patrons competing to win the prestigious Desert Polo trophy.

The presence of the world’s biggest polo stars including 10 goal players Pablo MacDonough, as well as Adolfo and Poroto Cambiaso, many of whom have now competed in every edition, exemplifies the growing importance of the Richard Mille AlUla Desert Polo on the global polo circuit, and there are exciting plans to develop polo in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia moving forward.

Playing in three very closely-fought games over the two days, Team Budget put up a very strong challenge against its opponents, including Team Richard Mille (who went on to win the title), featuring Pablo MacDonough, Mohammed AlSewedy and Clare Milford Haven; Team Bentley, Poroto Cambiaso, HRH Sultan bin Khaled Al Faisal and Sarah Siegel-Magness; and Team Dadan Mia Cambiaso, HRH Prince Abbas bin Ali, and Miguel Morel.

Uniting cultures through a love of polo, Standing Rock was proud to present a traditional Swiss Chukker Bell as a gift to the Chairman of the Saudi Polo Federation, Amr Zedan, which was warmly received.

In addition to the polo action, players and guests were immersed in the rich heritage of AlUla, including visiting ancient tombs at UNESCO World Heritage Site Hegra, and dining at authentic restaurants.

We thank the Saudi Polo Federation and the Royal Commission for AlUla for their wonderful hospitality and for organising a truly memorable polo event.
