Standing Rock Wins the Abraham Aparicio 12-Goal Cup in Bogotá, Colombia

Travelling to the capital city of Colombia, Bogotá, as part of the Standing Rock World Tour, Philipp Müller once again led his team to victory in yet another corner of the globe. This impressive victory in the Abraham Aparicio 12-Goal Cup at Bogotá Polo Club, Colombia, marks four out of four wins for Standing Rock in competitive tournaments so far in 2026, giving the organisation great momentum for the upcoming summer season in the UK.

The Standing Rock team of Juan Esteban Uribe Salcedo, Alejandro Mora Convers, Marco Cabal Valencia and Philipp were a dominating force throughout the tournament, winning their first game 8 -3 and their second game 13 - 7, seeing them breeze through to the semi-finals.

A 9 - 7 win in the semis took the team into the final, where they once again asserted their authority, taking an early 4 - 0 lead and retaining the lead until the end of the 6th and final chukker. Standing Rock finished the game with a 13 - 9 victory over the runner-up San Marcos, a team line-up of Fabian Andrés Castillo, Diego Albán Jaramillo, Juan Pablo Herrera Márquez and Tomás Grajales Lloreda.

Founded in 1897, Bogotá Polo Club has a rich history and today it comprises a beautiful clubhouse, eight polo fields and stabling for 1000 horses, all with the most spectacular backdrop. The Abraham Aparicio trophy has been played at the club since 1984 and Standing Rock received a warm welcome and wonderful hospitality with many lasting friendships being made.

Standing Rock’s Marco Cabal Valencia won the Most Valuable Player Award in the final, and Juan Esteban Uribe - who made a huge contribution to the team’s success with his exceptional playing skills and warrior spirit - was presented with the Best Playing Pony Award.
