Standing Rock Polo Team capped off an impressive UK season by defeating Tamodi 12–7 in the final of the prestigious 18-Goal Challenge Cup at Cowdray Park Polo Club, led by Pierandrea Müller. Following an outstanding performance throughout the tournament, Müller was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the final.

The victory also secured the 2026 18-Goal Victor Ludorum Championship for Standing Rock, confirming the team’s consistency across the British medium-goal season.

Earlier in the year, Müller had already cemented an unassailable lead in the 2026 8-Goal Victor Ludorum Championship before the season finale. On the same day as the 18-Goal final, Peer Polo narrowly missed out on another title, coming runners-up in the Holden White tournament final against White Crane, who won 5-4 in overtime.

2026 has already been a milestone year for the 25-year-old Swiss player. Alongside two Victor Ludorum championships and three tournament victories in the UK, Müller’s handicap has been increased from 3 to 4 Goals, in line with his Argentine rating.

With this achievement, Pierandrea Müller has become the first Swiss polo player in history to attain a 4-Goal handicap.

Müller first sat on a horse at the age of 15 and became hooked on polo from his very first lesson. He is currently studying Economics at the Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA) in Buenos Aires while pursuing his passion for polo. His rapid progression, combined with stand-out performances in the UK and Argentina, has established him as one of Switzerland’s most accomplished polo players.

Reflecting on an exceptional season, Müller commented:

“Winning the 18-Goal Challenge Cup at Cowdray, as well as the 18-Goal Victor Ludorum title, is the perfect way to end an incredible and competitive season in the UK. Our 18-Goal Standing Rock team has shown remarkable teamwork and resilience throughout the season - particularly after a difficult start with Joche Araya being injured and missing the first three tournaments. Once the core team came together, it has been amazing to play with Joche, Jack Hyde and Simon Prado, who all give their best in every game.

To receive the MVP award for the final is very special for me, and I feel proud to put Switzerland on the polo map. I’m honoured to be the first Swiss polo player to attain a 4-Goal handicap, and my aim is to keep raising the bar and building on the success I’ve had in the UK as I head back to play in Argentina.”
